Wicked Welcomes Rondi Reed as New Madame Morrible

Rondi Reed, Tony Award winner, will perform in the role of Madame Morrible in Wicked on Broadway currently at the Gershwin Theatre starting on March 17.

The musical is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire by the same name and features a Stephen Schwartz score and Winne Holzman book. Joe Mantello is the director and Wayne Cilento does the musical staging.

The production also features Alli Mauzey playing Glinda, Nicole Parker playing Elphaba, P.J. Benjamin playing The Wizard, Alex Brightman playing Boq, Kevin Kern playing Fiyero, Cristy Candler playing Nessarose and Dr. Dillamond played by Timothy Britten Parker.

Reed, who received her Tony Award for her role in August: Osage County, played the original Madame Morrible in the Wicked Chicago production. She has also made Broadway appearances in The Grapes of Wrath and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, along with an Off-Broadway production of Picasso.
