The stories of the characters and creatures from the lands of Oz has captured our imaginations for decades through books and films. Now, Frank L. Baum’s novel is brilliantly expanded into a rich universe by Greg Maguire and set to music by Stephen Schwartz in the hit Broadway musical, Wicked. From their first day at Shiz University, room mates Elphaba and Glinda felt nothing but loathing for each other. Who would have guessed that the odd green girl and the popular blonde girl would eventually forge a friendship so strong that not even the great and powerful Wizard could tear them apart?
Ready your brooms and wands when the witches of Oz come to the Providence Performing Arts Center from September 21 through October 8, 2016. Celebrate the close of summer with the Ozians as they cast their magic.
